U.S. Senator Kit Bond visits and thanks Convoy of Hope

U.S. Senator Kit Bond visited Convoy of Hope’s world distribution center in Springfield, Mo., to thank the humanitarian relief organization and its many volunteers and supporters for their work in Haiti. 

“You have tremendous resources available and a great network of people to deliver them,” said Bond during a press conference that followed a tour of Convoy of Hope’s 300,000 square foot warehouse. “You are all part of the team taking Haiti through this crisis and beyond… I commend Convoy of Hope for its quick response to the earthquake victims. Thanks for your hard work and dedication.” 

Since the earthquake struck on January 12th Convoy of Hope has distributed more than 3.5 million meals and has installed more than 30 water purification units in Haiti.

During the press conference Hal Donaldson, president of Convoy of Hope, said that thousands of hygiene kits put together by U.S. students would undoubtedly help students in Haiti. He also thanked Senator Bond. 

“We thank you for your legacy of service to our state and nation,” he said.
